Current Grant Guidelines and Applications

The West Marin Fund requests grant proposals from nonprofits serving the WMF’s service area: Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Olema, Nicasio, Point Reyes Station, Inverness, Marshall, Tomales and Dillon Beach twice per year – Spring and Autumn.

Our Autumn 2017 Community Grants round is now open!  Please click here to learn more and apply online.  Applications must be submitted through our new online system, and are due by 11:59pm on October 4, 2017.

Our Spring 2017 grant round is now closed.  Final reports are due February 6, 2018.

Details on previous grant rounds – awards, grantees, and reporting deadlines may be found on our Past Grants page

Typically, the pool of funds per round is $55,000. Grant requests may cover a broad range of strategies or products related to a grant making theme specific to each round.

Up to 10% of grant awards can be allocated for reasonable administrative or overhead costs, but grants are not intended for salaries alone.  Priority will be given to proposals that result in improving an organization’s capacity to provide service to West Marin.

Although the maximum grant is $5000, grants will often be for less. Grantees will be expected to use the funds within 10 months, with a brief but concise report due to West Marin Fund at that time (one page that details use, impact, lessons learned, plus a clear accounting of expenditures).
