The West Marin Collaborative is an important community forum that welcomes diversity & discussion.
Its purpose is to provide a non-profit space where people serving West Marin can learn what others are doing, support each other, and collaborate to increase effectiveness. Participants also give input and guidance on the Collaborative Impact Project, which awards grants to reduce service gaps for disadvantaged populations in the region.
The Collaborative was created by Maria Niggle in 2013 to bridge the gap in services for Anglo and Latino communities and has met continuously since then, now meeting online on the fourth Wednesday of every month from 9:30am to 11:00am. For more information, to join meetings and/or subscribe to the newsletter, please send an email to wmcollaborative@westmarinfund.org.
The County of Marin currently provides funding for the West Marin Collaborative and the Collaborative Impact Program. West Marin Fund provides backbone support by hosting the monthly online meetings, sending out a monthly newsletter with program announcements and the meeting agenda, and preparing and circulating meeting notes after each meeting. Marin Promise Partnership provided backbone support from 2017-2023.
The West Marin Collaborative and West Marin Commons have forged a partnership so that community members and nonprofits can post events on the calendar on the West Marin Commons website
